Dawn, a graduate of the University of New Orleans with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, joined the Firm in 1993. Additionally, Dawn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from Radford University, Radford, Virginia. She is an audit partner of the Firm and has over twenty-five years of public accounting experience. Dawn has vast experience in accounting and auditing, specializing in not-for-profit organizations. Her other areas of expertise are in the automobile, cellular cable and captive insurance industries.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA), FICPA Accounting and Auditing, Business Technology and Management of an Accounting Practice Section Group and Certified Captive Insurance Auditors division in Nevada, Delaware and Tennessee. She is also a member of the American Woman’s Society of CPAs (AWSCPA), including the Tampa Chapter, BKR International Governmental/Not-for-Profit Accounting and Auditing Industry Practice Group, BKR International Technology (Internal) Industry Practice Group and AutoCPA Group. Dawn has had several articles published in the AutoCPA quarterly newsletter and serves as the Group’s Program Chairman. She has been instrumental in moving the firm to a paperless environment and assists the managing partner with its annual internal peer review process. She was also nominated for the 2014 FICPA’s Women to Watch Award, during the Women’s Leadership Summit.
Dawn volunteers with I Am Hope Café, FICPA Accounting for Success and serves as a member of the Finance Committee of St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church. She has served as a volunteer with the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program, mentored at the United Methodist Home for Children, as well as developed teaching material for elementary age children to be used in “Accounting for Success” sponsored by the FICPA. She is the mother of a college aged son and has been married to her husband Addes for over 20 years.
